Centenary Celebration Begins

The begining of the Centenary Celebration of the 68 No. Khairuddin LP School of Dhupdhara, began today on 29th Oct, 2013 with the hoisting of the school flag by Sri Hemanta Kr Roy Choudhury, president of the centenary celebration committee. This was followed by a procession inaugurated by Md. Tajmahal Hussain, president, SMC of the school. The day concluded with the lighting of 100 lamps by Sri Dinesh Ch Patgiri, retired headmaster of the school.

The 68 No. Khairuddin L P School, with its glorious past, stepped into its centenary year which will begin with the hoisting of school flag by Sri Hemanta Kumar Roy Choudhury, president of the centenary celebration committee in the morning on October 29. This will be followed by a procession by the students of the School and well wishers. The procession will be inaugurated by Md. Tajmahal Hussain, president of the School Management Committee. The first day’s programme will conclude with the lighting of lamp programme in the evening by Sri Dinesh Ch Patgiri, retired Headmaster of the School. On the next day various sports competitions will be held among the students from class 1 to class V. The soprts competition will be inaugurated by Sri Akhil Sarkar, retired headmaster of Dhupdhara Govt. High School.

The procession participated by hundreds of students of the school, ex students, teachers, guardians, members of the Centenary Committee and well wishers took out through the streets of Dhupdhara in the morning at 9 am.
Sports Competitions

To mark the Centenary Celebration of the 68 No. Khairuddin LP School various sports competitions were held among the students of Class I to Class V of the locality on October 29. The Sports competitions were inaugurated by Sri Akhil Sarkar, retired headmaster, Dhupdhara High School. More than 300 students of various schools of the locality participated in the competitions. The competition were held in the playgrounds of Dhupdhara High School and Bikali Spotrs Association. Later the successful students were awarded.

'Janapriya Baktrita Anusthan' - a popular lecture programme was arranged in the school premises on November 9. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Haque Ahmed, Associated Professor, Bikali College and was conducted by Hemanta Kumar Roy Choudhury, president, celebration committee. Jaffar Ali Ahmed, principal, DIET, Dudhnoi and Dr. Jiten Das, Secretary, Cultural Department, Govt. of Assam, were the two distinguished speakers present in the programme. Jaffar Ali Ahmed gave lecture on our primary education system while Dr. Jiten Das discussed the heritage of lower Assam specially greater Dhupdhara region with reference from 15th to 19th century.
